Hi there! My name is Naomi van Heemst and I am an illustrator & animator based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. I love writing, world building, designing characters and making short animations. I usually get inspired by Japanese woodblock prints, comic books and music! And I’m currently working towards a career in visual development.
Coming from a multicultural background, culture has always been important to me and that interest reappears in a lot of my work. Representation and diversity is one of the main focusses of the stories that I write and visualise. I aspire to create worlds and characters that anyone can identify with and see a part of themselves in. In the past I have worked for a production company, done commissioned portraits and made a short animated film for theatre production.
